Fashola Commissions Mobile Kitchen For State Public Service
• Offers free food to 2,000 Muslim staff throughout Ramadan
Aug 24, 2009 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Monday commissioned a Mobile Kitchen for the State’s Public Servants urging young people in the State to look towards such enterprise as a means to economic success.
Governor Fashola, who described the commissioning as a very important event, declared, “This is an enterprise in a land of opportunities; an enterprise in a very populous State that provides market for those who want to succeed”, adding that this kind of business is popular in public places and stadia all over the world.
Thanking the Head of Service, Alhaji Yakub Balogun and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mobile Kitchen Mr. Adeola Adelanwa, the Private Partner in the business, for making the service available to the State’s Public Servants, the Governor particularly described the free meals for 2000 Muslim staff during the period of Ramadan fast as most encouraging.
The CEO of Mobile Kitchens, Mr. Adeola Adelanwa, in his short remarks, expressed gratitude to Governor Fashola for his support in making the enterprise a reality adding that the initiative is to ensure that the Mega-City dream of the Governor manifests.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Head of Service, Alhaji Yakub Balogun said Mobile Kitchen initiative is in consonance with the spirit of Public/Private Partnership put in place by the Fashola administration, adding that it will provide complementary service to the existing arrangement with the Staff Canteen.
He said the launch represents the efforts of the present administration at further improving the welfare of Public Servants in the State which, according to him, will in the long run, “engender greater productivity and quality service delivery”.
Thanking the Governor, whom he described as “energetic, proactive, visionary, resourceful and ever dynamic”, for initiating the Mobile Kitchen programme and for providing free meals during the month of Ramadan, the Head of Service urged Public Servants to take advantage of the initiative and be more dedicated and diligent.
Also Present at the occasion were the Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan, members of the State Executive Council and other top government functionaries as well as some members of the Adelanwa Family.
