Women send SOS to Governor Fashola...

About 100 women on Wednesday besieged the Lagos State Government House in Alausa, seeking Governor Babatunde Fashola's intervention in the alleged terrorism in the Ayobo area of the state.

The women, who are members of the Ayobo Women Solidarity Group, alleged that one Moruf Owonla hired some street urchins to rape girls and rob residents of the area.

The protesters displayed placards with inscriptions: "Gov. Fashola please help us"; "Our lives and properties at risk in Ayobo".

Their spokesperson, Esther Shonibare, alleged that Ayobo residents no longer moved around after 7 p.m. due to the activities of the street urchins.

"They have a big building where Owonla kept them to terrorise us, extort money, rape innocent girls and rob unsuspecting people of their valuables.

"Every effort to get out of this mess has failed; so we are sending a Save-Our-Soul (SOS) message to Gov. Fashola", she said.

NAN reports that no official of the state government met with the women as at the time of this report.
